1 1/2lbs salmon divided into 4 equal pieces
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder)
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup maple syrup
Optional - 1/8 teaspoon grated, fresh ginger
If you would like extra sauce to pour on your salmon at the table, double the sauce ingredients.
Preheat oven to 400F degrees. In a small bowl, mix all ingredients except salmon. Place salmon pieces in a baking dish and coat the salmon with the sauce. Place the salmon in the refrigerate for 20 minutes, turning once. Place the salmon (in the same baking dish) in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 20 minutes, or until the fish is easily flaked with a fork.
Keep 1/2 of the sauce separate if you have doubled the sauce ingredients. Heat the extra sauce and serve at the table.
Optional - Sprinkle with sesame seeds and thinly sliced scallions when finished.
